Day 1: Makassar – Lengkese – Lake Tanralili
09.00 WITA – Meeting Point in Makassar (Mangga Tiga)
The journey begins in Makassar, where all participants gather at the designated meeting point. Here, equipment checks are conducted to ensure everyone is prepared. Depending on your package, you will either depart from Makassar or directly meet the team at Nindy Mart Bili-Bili or at the Lengkese Registration Post. From Makassar, a three-hour drive by car will bring us to the basecamp at Lengkese, located in Parigi District, Gowa Regency.
12.00 – Arrival at Lengkese Registration Post
As soon as we arrive, the refreshing mountain air greets us. This is the official starting point of the hike. From here, the trekking adventure begins with an uphill trail covering about three kilometers before reaching Lake Tanralili.
13.30 – Trekking Begins
The trail starts with the famous “Thousand Regrets Slope”, a challenging ascent that quickly sets the tone for the adventure. Along the way, you will pass small waterfalls, forest paths, and vantage points such as the Mini Waterfall and Puncak Jaringan. The path runs close to the Jeneberang River, where the soothing sound of flowing water accompanies every step. The scenery often resembles the mystical atmosphere of the well-known Torean trail in North Sulawesi, giving hikers a sense of walking into a hidden world.
15.30 – Arrival at Lake Tanralili (1,454 masl)
At last, Lake Tanralili reveals itself. Nestled at the foot of Mount Bawakaraeng, this natural lake is a sight to behold. Surrounded by pine forests and often wrapped in morning mist, many have compared it to Ranu Kumbolo of East Java. Its crystal-clear waters and tranquil atmosphere make it a perfect place to rest after the trek.
Here, the group will set up camp. Dinner will be served by the lakeside, and the night is free for storytelling, enjoying hot drinks, and gazing at the stars. This serene lakeside camp will be our home for the first night.
Day 2: Lohe Valley – Love Lake
05.30 – Morning Call and Sunrise
Wake up early to catch the sunrise. The mist over the lake slowly fades as the sun peeks out from behind the mountains, casting golden reflections across the water. This magical scene is a photographer’s dream and one of the highlights of the trip.
06.00 – Breakfast by the Lake
A nutritious breakfast will be served to restore energy and prepare everyone for the next leg of the journey.
07.00 – Trek to Lohe Valley (±3 km)
The trail to Lohe Valley is another adventure on its own. The path includes five steep ascents and three rest shelters along the way. Though the trek can be demanding, the rewards are immense. After roughly two hours of hiking, you will arrive at one of South Sulawesi’s hidden gems.
10.00 – Exploration of Lohe Valley
Lohe Valley is an expansive plateau surrounded by dramatic cliffs. Its wide-open grasslands stretch out like a natural carpet, and the mist that often lingers makes the entire valley look like a scene from a fantasy novel. It is the perfect place to unwind, take stunning photos, and simply absorb the beauty of untouched wilderness.
The valley also offers a sense of solitude—standing here, surrounded by silence and towering stone walls, one cannot help but feel humbled by the grandeur of nature.
14.00 – Visit to Love Lake
Not far from Lohe Valley lies Love Lake, another natural wonder in the same area. Its unique shape and peaceful surroundings make it an enchanting stop. The quiet ambiance is perfect for a reflective break or just to admire how diverse the landscapes in this region can be.
18.00 – Evening in Lohe Valley
As the sun sets, the group will gather for dinner in Lohe Valley. Nighttime here feels otherworldly. Without city lights, the sky glitters with stars, and the valley itself glows faintly in the moonlight. After dinner, participants can share stories, enjoy a hot drink, or simply lie back and marvel at the night sky. Overnight rest will be in Lohe Valley camp.
Day 3: Lohe Valley – Return to Makassar
05.30 – Sunrise in Lohe Valley
Another early wake-up call rewards participants with a spectacular sunrise. Watching the first rays of sunlight spill into the valley, illuminating the cliffs and grasslands, is an unforgettable farewell gift from nature.
06.00 – Breakfast
Enjoy a hearty breakfast in the crisp morning air.
08.30 – Departure to Makassar
After packing up camp and ensuring no trace is left behind, the group begins the journey back to Makassar. By this time, every participant carries not only photographs but also priceless memories of a three-day adventure filled with beauty, camaraderie, and discovery.
This 3 Days 2 Nights itinerary is designed to balance trekking challenges with moments of relaxation and appreciation of nature. It combines the mystical charm of Lake Tanralili with the grandeur of Lohe Valley and the serenity of Love Lake, offering a complete outdoor experience in South Sulawesi.
