As July 2026 comes to a close, everyone at Sekeluarga Healing would like to express our deepest gratitude to every traveler who joined our adventures throughout South Sulawesi. This month has been one of our most memorable yet, as we had the privilege of welcoming 27 amazing guests from 9 different countries. Every tour was filled with smiles, exciting discoveries, cultural exchanges, and unforgettable moments that reminded us why we are passionate about sharing the beauty of Indonesia.
Our guests came from France, Australia, Singapore, Austria, Germany, the United States, Spain, the Netherlands, and Japan. Although they spoke different languages and came from diverse cultures, they all shared one thing in common—a passion for exploring authentic destinations and experiencing nature beyond the ordinary.
Throughout July, our guests explored four of South Sulawesi's most fascinating destinations: Rammang-Rammang Karst, Leang-Leang Prehistoric Park, Lakkang Tourism Village, and Makassar City Tour. Each destination offered a unique experience, making every journey rich in history, culture, and natural beauty.
Exploring the Magnificent Rammang-Rammang Karst
For many travelers, Rammang-Rammang became the highlight of their visit to Indonesia. Located about 90 minutes from Makassar, this breathtaking destination is home to one of the world's largest limestone karst landscapes.
Guests began their adventure with a peaceful boat ride along the Pute River. Surrounded by towering limestone cliffs, green rice fields, and traditional wooden houses, the journey immediately created a sense of tranquility. The calm river reflects the dramatic karst formations, creating spectacular scenery that photographers absolutely love.
Visitors continued exploring Berua Village, where local communities still preserve their traditional lifestyle. Walking through rice fields, crossing wooden bridges, and discovering hidden caves allowed guests to experience authentic rural Indonesia.
Many visitors described Rammang-Rammang as one of Southeast Asia's best-kept secrets, offering stunning scenery without the crowds found at more famous destinations.
Walking Through Thousands of Years of History at Leang-Leang
History lovers were fascinated by Leang-Leang Prehistoric Park, one of Indonesia's most significant archaeological sites.
This remarkable destination is famous for its ancient cave paintings, including prehistoric hand stencils and images of wild animals created tens of thousands of years ago. These artworks provide valuable insight into the lives of some of the earliest modern humans who lived in Sulawesi.
As our guides explained the history behind these ancient paintings, guests gained a deeper appreciation of Indonesia's rich cultural heritage. Standing inside these caves offered a rare opportunity to connect with human history in a truly meaningful way.
Many guests were amazed that such an important archaeological site remains relatively unknown to international travelers.
Discovering the Peaceful Village of Lakkang
Another unforgettable destination was Lakkang Tourism Village, a peaceful riverside community located between the Tallo and Pampang Rivers.
Accessible only by a short traditional boat crossing, Lakkang feels like a hidden island where life moves at a slower pace. Guests enjoyed cycling through quiet village roads, walking beneath shady trees, and interacting with friendly local residents.
